Eric Kutner

Strategy, policy, and management consultant based in San Diego still very connected to Washington, DC (where I based part time 2010-2015). Efforts in national security, science and technology, innovation (including entrepreneurship), and education. I often help individuals and organizations understand and deal with human issues, which I like to say are at least 99.99% of everything.

Former senior advisor to the START Consortium (Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence at the University of Maryland at College Park) and have now spent over five years on the Advisory Board of CCICADA (based at Rutgers University, 1/2 of another DHS COE) which has a data science, info sharing, cyber focus. Many other academic/ research world connections. I was a Physics major at Princeton University years ago (many years later co-produced a major summit on homeland security with the Woodrow Wilson School featuring 9/11 Commission Chairman Gov Kean). Have been in high level cybersecurity, information and intelligence sharing, cooperation/ collaboration, readiness, resilience, diplomacy, civil military relations, border security, first responder (my brother is a Fairfax County VA firefighter paramedic and a former Mercer and Somerset County NJ medic, and I was an EMT in NJ years ago), emergency management, and other circles over the years.

Great innovation (including entrepreneurship) network. Efforts over the years include Entrepreneur in Residence at CONNECT (leading regional innovation organization) in San Diego, track chair for a 2017 People-Centered Internet summit in Bay Area, former advisor to Global Innovation Summit in Silicon Valley, and very involved in entrepreneurship circles at Princeton University and other institutions over the years plus former advisor to Ivy (originally Princeton) Sports Symposium.

Great military network, including high level civilians and active and retired general and flag officers across the services, combatant commands and subordinate commands, Joint Staff, etc. Many high level civilian and four and three star meetings/ calls in recent years. Via Navy, was a Distinguished Visitor aboard aircraft carrier STENNIS and have visited amphibs BOXER and AMERICA in port. Army hosted me as a VIP at Ft Bliss for the NIE 17.2 exercise. Gave a cyber security related talk at a high level PACOM supported information operations summit in Honolulu in October 2017 and was back there for three weeks in December 2017, including high level PACOM meetings, including Deputy Commander and J6. 

2018: Chaired IDGA Special Operations NEXUS conference in Tampa. Met with CENTCOM Commander at HQ. Attended 2018 NORAD NORTHCOM, Army TRADOC, and STENNIS Commander Changes of Command as a VIP.
